I posted this picture on October 9th, 2009. Today is August 6th, 2010 and I’ve been getting quite a response to this photo today. Ashley wasn’t who we all thought she was at a point in time and I’m sure a quick google search will lead you to more information.
If I told you who this is for, I’d have to kill you. Well not really. Nothing I’ve shot is to that degree of life and death.
That magazine I started now has it’s own home on this great big interweb! Please go take a look! http://www.mountainsarecalling.com/
Man, this took a while to get up here…but it is done now and I’m happy to say that! I owe like a million thanks for people helping with this video so let me try to rattle those off. Thanks to the Everlea boys for braving storms and fireworks, Derek Hisson for filling in on bass, Sylvia Waliczek for paper mache expertise, Steph Bye for being the best big headed man ever, Meagan for being so cute in the video, Rebecca for doing an awesome job on the violin and most off all to Jesse Hunt for like a million trillion hours of hard work and knowing everything I do not. Everlea has a whole new myspace up for the video so go take a look at that too! Anyway, without further adieu, here is the video!
I have a friend Nada and she has a pretty awesome blog. I would really try to write all these awesome things about it and her but my wordsmanship pails in comparisons with hers. The blog is Friends With Both Arms. It is her current outlet for music reviews of all kinds. She has an interesting taste in music and while it may not align perfectly with mine, I’m still loving the mix she made me last week. Even just the way she talks about the songs will make you want to find all the subtleties she is describing and on the way, you’ll find yourself finding ways to enjoy something you’d usually skip past. Last week, her and I ventured to one of my favorite places on a pretty overcast day to try to take some photos. We didn’t get exactly what I was looking for due to unforeseen limitations but we’re going to try something of the like soon. Here are a couple photos from the day anyway. Go read her blog!
I’m down with posting these Circa Survive studio blogs when my lenses get used. Jamie is the man, Circa rules and they come together for an epic blog. Fisheye shot for the win!
Post Script – Jackie Musial post a very nice and all too bias review of Mountains on her blog. I still need to get a site up for the magazine but I’ll take pictures of it and make a video tomorrow. For now, here is her blog - http://justbearwithme.blogspot.com/
A picture of Justin from Everlea from something we were working on yesterday. Up soon I think! Along with their new myspace which has their new video that I made! Stoked!
Everlea is playing the show in Burlington tonight that Mountains is getting released at! Please come! I received a bunch of copies yesterday and I’m so excited to get it out there!
